Alex Varanese is a designer trapped in the past; 1977 to be exact. His retro-inspired design, illustration and typography picks up where the polyester pop design masters of the past left off – and then throws their style into overdrive combining the ’70s pop aesthetic with 3D off-the-chain craziness and digital wizardry. Over the past 15 years, the internationally reknowned fine artist eX de Medici has been slowly covering Ostling’s body with images of native Australian flowers. What began as a quest to have an original tattoo has turned into an obsession, with Ostling running out of room to continue his inking journey, and Medici running out of canvas. By the time Ostling dies (he’s in his mid-60s), he wants to have his entire body covered in her work. He then wants to pack himself off to the taxidermist, get himself stuffed, and be put on display for the world to oggle. Nice? Im not so sure….
I made this image yesterday that im quite happy with.
And guess what? Its up for sale over here
Houston-based Kevin Peterson is an incredibly talented artist who brings an extra dimension to photorealism.
“My work is about the varied journeys we take through life. It’s about growing up and living in a world that is broken. These paintings are about trauma, fear and loneliness and the strength that it takes to survive and thrive. They each contain the contrast of the untainted, young and innocent against a backdrop of a worn, ragged, and defiled world.”
